Hucknall WI Events

In 2023 we successfully held three Hucknall WI Quiz fundraising events for WI members and friends held at John Godber Centre in Hucknall.  These were an opportunity for teams to test their trivia knowledge and have a good night out.

Our summer social was a wine tasting for WI members and friends at Amber Valley Vineyard in Wessington.  There has also been an archery taster session arranged which proved great fun.

In 2024 we visited the Sherwood Observatory prior to the refurbishment and the Derby Museum of Making and personal guided tour by Rachel Carter of her exhibition 'Standing in This Place - Cotton Connections' in March to reflect International Women's Day.  We have had a tour of Bromley House Library rounding the day off with afternoon tea.

Our fundraising in 2024 has included a Back to School disco and a collaboration with Nottingham Wind Ensemble.

We began 2025 with a WI fundraising quiz - our most successful to date and now enjoy a loyal following of supporters and quiz goers.  This year we chose to celebrate women on International Women's Day on 8th March with an afternoon tea held at the Bentinck Club as well as delivering wrapped free books to the local community.

We have a narrowboat trip planned for May.  In June we will be holding a kurling and chip cob fundraising event at Central Methodist Church.  We also have a foraging trip planned for August.
